The Town of Millville announces there is a Municipal Election to be held March 5, 2016 Positions Open: Two (2) council seats with a term of office of 2 years (March 2016 to March 2018) Eligibility Requirements (in effect throughout the term): 18 years of age or older Bona fide resident of the United States Bona fide resident of the State of Delaware Resident of the Town of Millville for at least ninety (90) days preceding the Annual Municipal Election Procedures for Filing: Anyone interested in running for these seats must provide proof of residency; submit a completed application (which serves as the notification of candidacy) and filing fee of $100.00 by 4:30 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2016.  Applications are available at Town Hall, or on our website at www.millville.delaware.gov. The Town Council, at a Public Hearing held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 7:00 p.m., at the Millville Town Hall, 36404 Club House Road, Millville, Delaware, approved the following: Ordinance 16-03 to remove Special Exceptions requirements from the Town of Millville Code at Chapter 155 at: Article XI Board of Adjustment § 155-58. Special Exceptions. Ordinance 16-04 to amend the Town Code relating to the Town Planning & Zoning (P&Z) Commission, including its composition, duties, and procedure. The Town will now have a P&Z committee consisting of the Town Manager, Town Code & Building Administrator, the Town Planner (AECom representative), and a Council Member. Millville’s 3rd Annual Holiday Market scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015

The Millville Holiday Market will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Millville Town Hall (36404 Club House Road, Millville, DE 19967) and also across the street at the Millville United Methodist Church (36405 Club House Road, Millville)! There will be 25+ local vendors with various items for sale — including jewelry, scarves, hats, Christmas wreaths, ornaments and more! There will also be lunch food for sale outside of the market! Donations will also be accepted for the Get Well Gabby Foundation (www.getwellgabby.org), which raises money for childhood brain cancer research to help find a cure, as well as assisting in the care and well being of children and their families battling childhood cancer. Rt. 26/Atlantic Ave. Road Widening Project UPDATE (8/11/15)

Town of Millville Town Manager Debbie Botchie attended the DelDOT Construction Advisory Group meeting this morning to be told the SR26 project’s completion date has now been extended to September 7, 2016.  George & Lynch has been awarded 2 extensions in the amount of 75 days due to weather since their start in 2014.

Below is an outline of the anticipated construction schedule and associated lane closures for work on and within the SR 26 Widening Project during the next week. Monday, July 18, 2016m through Thursday, July 21, 2016 – Night Shift Begin final paving activities on Route 26 between the Assawoman Canal and Central Avenue. Motorists should anticipate eastbound and westbound lane closures on Route 26 between the Assowaman Canal and Central Avenue with traffic alternating through the work zone utilizing a flagging operation by construction personnel and Law Enforcement from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Monday, July 18, 2016, through Thursday, July 21, 2016 – Dayshift Continue grading for new curb and sidewalk on Central Avenue between Route 26 and Woodland Avenue.
