FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE UNLICENSED HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES TARGETING DELAWARE SENIORS Dover, DE — Senior citizens are being warned to be on the lookout for unlicensed health insurance companies in Delaware. The companies have been marketing and selling plans to residents of long-term care and nursing home facilities in Delaware and other States. “We are issuing a warning to seniors because we have learned these unlicensed companies are targeting  residents of nursing home facilities in Kent County and may be reaching out to potential targets in other parts of the State as well,” said Commissioner Trinidad Navarro. “If a consumer wants to verify whether a company is licensed to sell insurance in Delaware, they can call our toll-free number at 1-800-282-8611.” The Delaware Department of Insurance and the Delaware Division of Medicaid & Medical Assistance received information from a nursing home which reported that a company was attempting to sell to […]

Millville Town Council 9/12/17 Public Hearing Result Notice

The Town Council, at a Public Hearing held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., at the Millville Town Hall, 36404 Club House Road, Millville, Delaware, approved Resolution 18-04 which annexes certain territory contiguous to the limits of the Town of Millville owned by The Howard Robert Hickman Revocable Trust, tax map and parcel numbers 134-12.00-394.00 and 134-12.00-394.04 (totaling 31.32+/- acres located on Windmill Drive and Dukes Drive) into the Town of Millville; and amends the Zoning Map and Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Millville to include said territory in the R-Residential District.  To view the full announcement, please click here.

MVFC Accepting Donations for Texas Hurricane Harvey Victims

Due to the horribly ravaging effects as a result of Hurricane Harvey in Texas, the Millville Volunteer Fire Company (MVFC) is collecting the following items from the community to be donated toward victims of Hurricane Harvey: Non-perishable food items Hygiene products Socks Clothing Water bottles Clorox wipes Glass cleaner wipes Moist towelettes (for body washing) We ask that you please donate to those who have lost nearly everything in the devastation. Even just one of the items listed above will help make a big difference! Donations will be accepted at the MVFC until mid-September. The MVFC will be having the company H2O Pro (in Ocean View) delivering the items to Texas. If you have any further questions, please contact Velicia Melson of the MVFC at 302-539-7557.

Coastal Towns Historic Homes Tour in Ocean View, Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017

Come join the Ocean View Historical Society (OVHS) on Saturday, October 7, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for its Coastal Towns Historic Homes Tour, a guided tour of several historic houses all within walking distance of the Historic Tunnell West house. Admission cost is $20 for OVHS members, $30 for future members. Limited tickets are on sale at Ellen Rice Gallery, located on Rt. 26/Atlantic Avenue in Ocean View; and at Made by Hand, located on Rt. 1/Coastal Highway in South Bethany. Tickets are also available to purchase online at www.ovhistoricalsociety.org.  The OVHS is also offering the public a chance to participate in the “Buy a Brick” program.
