The Town of Millville will do its best to keep our residents up to date on severe weather events received from the National Weather Service when necessary:

Attention remains on the excessive heat and humidity expected to continue to impact the area today. Additionally, there is a potential for severe thunderstorms, and we have provided some additional information with this blast email update.
Changes:
Severe Weather: Coastal areas are now in a SLIGHT risk for severe thunderstorms.
Excessive Heat: No changes.
Locations affected:
Excessive Heat: Entire region.
Severe Weather: The entire region has been placed in a SLIGHT chance for severe thunderstorms today and tonight.
Timing: Oppressive heat with heat index values ranging from 100-110° continuing today. Scattered thunderstorms developing this afternoon and becoming more concentrated by evening.
Impacts: Very dangerous conditions especially for the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing conditions, especially if they live near urban centers without air conditioning. Extended time outdoors without water or shade breaks could result in heat related illnesses. For the thunderstorms, tree and wire damage will be possible with any strong winds, and roadway flooding will be possible with any areas of excessive rain.
Confidence on occurrence: High confidence (90-100%) in oppressive heat and humidity occurring. Lower confidence (30-40%) on exact coverage and timing with thunderstorms today.
